FAQ
Common questions.
Things people ask repeatedly. If your question isn't here, your assistant can answer it once you're signed in, and we'll add it to this page if we keep hearing it.
The product
What this is.
Is this a doctor?
No. It is also not a wellness app. It is the layer between them. Your AI assistant handles education, lifestyle, lab interpretation, and supplement guidance directly, in real time. Anything that involves a medication or meaningfully changes a care plan, it flags for you to take to your own licensed clinician rather than deciding for you.
Is this telehealth?
Not in the usual sense. There is no video visit on the membership. Your assistant reads your data and gives education and lifestyle guidance directly. If a Focus requires a prescriber (peptide protocols, for example), that handoff goes to a licensed pharmacy partner, shown in the app as the storefront you joined through, who runs the synchronous clinical interaction.
Is the AI making the call?
For education, lifestyle, lab interpretation, and supplement direction: yes, in real time. For anything that touches medication, a care-plan change, pregnancy decisions, or a mental-health crisis: it does not decide for you. It flags the consideration and points you to your own licensed clinician. The assistant tells you, plainly, when it's handing something off.
What if my numbers come back bad?
You'll see them, with context, the moment results land. Markers outside the healthy range are called out plainly, in words, not codes. Your assistant drafts an interpretation, including what's worth doing next; if that next step involves a medication, it flags it for you to take to your own licensed clinician. We don't hide bad numbers from you and we don't sit on the harder calls until your next appointment, because there isn't one.
Bloodwork
How the labs work.
How do I get my blood drawn?
Right now, you bring the labs you already have: upload a PDF or a clear photo from any lab and your assistant reads every line. Panel ordering is being built, with a Quest Diagnostics location near you or an at-home draw through a phlebotomy partner, and it will be part of the membership when it goes live.
What's in the baseline panel?
The baseline panel we're building covers about a hundred biomarkers: full lipid panel, metabolic, CBC + iron studies, vitamins (D, B12, folate, homocysteine), thyroid (TSH, Free T4), inflammation (hs-CRP), kidney, liver, glucose, HbA1c, fasting insulin. Focus-specific add-on panels layer on top: hormone work for Fertility, ApoB and Lipoprotein(a) for Longevity, the HPA-axis stack for Energy/Sleep. Until ordering is live, upload whatever your last draw covered and the assistant works from that.
Can I bring in prior labs?
Yes. Upload a Quest PDF or paste the text from any lab report. The assistant pulls every biomarker out, normalizes units, and puts them on your dashboard alongside everything else. It does not invent reference ranges or LOINC codes it does not have; if a number shows up incomplete, you can correct it.
How often do I re-test?
Depends on the marker. Lipids and vitamins, twelve weeks. Thyroid pattern and HPA-axis, eight. The system queues the right interval automatically when something lands flagged or suboptimal, and keeps draw conditions consistent so the numbers are actually comparable.
Recommendations
Products and partners.
Why do supplement recommendations go through a partner?
When your membership carries a partner storefront, supplement recommendations link out to it — a partner with the supply-chain depth and quality controls we wanted for this layer. The economics let us hold a single membership price without bundling a supplement charge in. You pay the partner directly for what you buy, and each recommendation cites the specific biomarker values that motivated it, so you can evaluate it before you decide.
Who handles peptide protocols?
Peptide protocols need a prescriber, so they run through Avellum Health, the licensed pharmacy behind the platform, rather than through us. The hand-off carries the storefront tied to your membership, we pass your context along so you do not have to recap it, you interact with the prescriber directly from that point, and we stay out of the prescribing decision.
Do you take a cut of partner purchases?
Yes. Attribution is part of the partner relationships, and it is how we hold one membership price. We disclose this because we'd want to know if we were the member. What we will not do: route a recommendation that is not supported by your data, or push a product the assistant would not have surfaced on its own.
Privacy and data
Your data, your call.
Who sees my information?
You and the clinical-network reviewer when something is queued for review. The AI uses your data to answer your questions. Our team has access under HIPAA-grade controls when we need to debug or operate the platform; every read or write is logged. We are not selling your data. That is not the business model.
Where is my data stored?
Encrypted at rest in a HIPAA-eligible Postgres database (Neon). The app runs on HIPAA-eligible hosting (Vercel). The AI advisor runs on AWS Bedrock (Claude models), with zero data-retention configured on the API calls, so your conversations are not retained for training.
Is this HIPAA?
Valdura is not a HIPAA covered entity: it is a cash-pay app and does not bill insurance, which is the activity that pulls a company under HIPAA. We hold your data to HIPAA-grade standards anyway. The product is built PHI-ready from day one (encryption at rest, access control, audit logging on every read or write), and we rely on the HIPAA compliance program of our affiliated company, Crystal Clear RX Wellness, under an intercompany agreement. Crystal Clear holds business-associate agreements with the vendors that handle your data (AWS, Vercel, Neon, Paubox). Your enforceable privacy rights come from consumer health-data laws like the Washington My Health My Data Act and CCPA/CPRA.
Can I delete everything?
One click in your settings. The account soft-deletes immediately and disappears from every member-facing surface; a scheduled job hard-deletes after the legally required retention window. We can also export your data on request.
Practical
Money and timing.
What happens if I miss a check-in?
Streaks have a forgiveness mechanic. You earn a shield at 7, 14, and 30 days running; shields cap at three and auto-spend to bridge a missed day, so a single off day doesn't erase the run. This is a daily lifestyle tracker, not a guilt trip.
Is it HSA/FSA eligible?
Portions of the membership, such as lab testing, may be eligible depending on your plan; rules vary and some administrators ask for a letter of medical necessity. Check with your plan administrator before paying with HSA/FSA funds. We'll provide an itemized receipt you can submit.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet. We're launching web-first, so everything runs in your browser on any device: the assistant, your intake, uploading labs and records, logging your day, and your recommendations. iOS and Android apps are coming soon, and they're what will unlock on-device sources like Apple Health.
Do I need a wearable?
No. You can bring your own data: upload past labs and any health record, and log your weight, meals, and supplements by hand. Your assistant works with all of it today. Automatic wearable sync (Oura, Whoop, Garmin and more) is being finalized and is coming soon.
When can I sign up?
Invite-only for now, opening in waves. If you are reading this and want a seat, the sign-in page lets you ping us.
Still have a question?
Once you are signed in, your Valdura assistant can answer most of these in context. For everything else, the team reads what comes in.
